This Week on N and CF.


On TCM Jan. 24th. The Catered Affair(1956). The film stars Bette Davis, Ernest Borgnine, Debbie Reynolds, Barry Fitzgerald and Rod Taylor. It was Taylor's first film for MGM. Click here for review


Happy Birthday: Paul Newman.(January 26, 1925 – September 26, 2008). Was an American actor, film director, entrepreneur, humanitarian, professional racing driver and auto racing enthusiast. He won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for best actor for his performance in the 1986 Martin Scorsese film The Color of Money. Please click picture on side bar to learn more.




On TCM Jan. 28th. Soylent Green (1973). Science fiction film directed by Richard Fleischer. Starring Charlton Heston, the film overlays the police procedural and science fiction genres as it depicts the investigation into the murder of a wealthy businessman in a dystopian future suffering from pollution, overpopulation, depleted resources, poverty, dying oceans, and a hot climate due to the greenhouse effect. Happy Birthday: Dorothy Malone. (born January 30, 1925) Her film career began in 1943, and in her early years she played small roles, mainly in B-movies. After a decade in films, she began to acquire a more glamorous image, particularly after her performance in Written on the Wind (1956), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Grace Kelly Soothie:
3 1/2 oz. grape juice
1 large guava, peeled and deseeded
5 oz. blueberries
1 pear, pealed quartered and cored
4 1/2 natural yogurt

place the GRAPE JUICE and GUAVA into
the blender, then add the rest of the
INGREDIENTS and blend until SMOOTH.
pour into a glass and serve chilled.
