Happy Birthday Jean Peters (1926 - 2000)
An American actress, known as a star of 20th Century Fox films in the late 1940s and early 1950s and as the second wife of Howard Hughes. Although possibly best remembered for her siren role in Pickup on South Street (1953), Peters was known for her resistance to be turned into a sex symbol, preferring to play unglamorous, down-to-earth women. Other film roles included Niagara (with Marilyn Monroe), Three Coins In The Fountain, Viva Zapata, and Captain From Castille.

Monty, I best remember Jean Peters from the film, Niagara(1953)
ReplyDeleteI've only seen her in Anne of the Indies, playing the female pirate captain. It's an awfully enjoyable little film.
ReplyDeleteEmm, I also may have seen her once in the film, Anne of the Indies. If I remember right it is a very entertaining film.
