This Week on Noir and Chick Flicks:
This week on Chick Flicks at the Movies: Impact (1949). Impact is a 1949 film noir starring Brian Donlevy and Ella Raines (pictured above). It was filmed entirely in California and included scenes at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. The film was based on a story by film noir writer Jay Dratler. Check side bar to view movie.
ON TCM: Tuesday, May 25th. The Heavenly Body (1943). An astronomer's neglected wife takes up astrology and a handsome astrologer. Cast: Heddy Lamarr and William Powell.
ON TCM: John Wayne Birthday Celebration: Saluting the 50th Anniversary of "THE ALAMO" - May 28-29.

Thanks for the tips on movies this week, Dawn. I've never seen Impact and am interested in it. I like Brian Donlevy. He was a good actor who did great work, like the sadistic Foreign Legion sergeant in "Beau Geste". He also did some stinkers, but then that happens to the best of them!

ReplyDeleteDawn, A couple of things . first I'll have to watch Impact, just for Charles Colburn Lol. Second ,Heddy takes up with A Air Raid Warren in the The Heavenly Body.The astrolger is a female.
