  4. Thank you ever so much, Dawn!

And: Congratulations to you! You and your blog clearly deserve many prices!!

I am hoping for a bright future for you and those who you love, too.

And: I never would have dared to mix pinapple and broccoli! I love everything with pineapple - so maybe I should give this one a try..

I think "Meet me in St. Louis" is a great film to start with.. ;")

All my best to you and all you love - and esp. Winlsow!!

  5. Thank you Dawn! How sweet.

PS I love okra. How big do okras grow?

  6. My fellow bloggers, you all have very entertaining blogs that deserve to be promoted. I hope that you all make a couple of new blogger friends.

Tom, I wondered the same thing... My small crop of okras, grew up to 4" long and over in inch in diameter.

  7. Wow, that's a long Okra; I've never seen one that big. (I love okra!)

  8. I just saw this Dawn, and YOU are the one who is irresistibly sweet! How nice of you to include me -- thank you so much.

I must say say one thing -- pineapple and BROCCOLI smoothy? That sounds absolutely disgusting!!! I don't even want to picture what color that would be ---- LOL! It's especially funny to me because this is the very first criticism of anything you ever did or said!

  9. Becky, LOL.. The Broccoli and pineapple smoothy, is a very ugly... green. But, it is really good and you really do not taste the Broccoli. Today, I added a apple to the mix.. Yummy!!

  10. Well, how fun it was to learn these things about you. You are obviously a warm weather gal, like I am. I lived 20+ years of my adult life in Florida and have not adjusted to living in a place that experiences winter. I am hoping and praying to get back to the South SOON...before the snow flies!!

I don't have a pocket beagle, but I do have 2 beagles, both of which are the 13 inch breed. The older one is 13, and she's quite fat. But the 2 year old (who was named Ginger in honor of my husband's favorite actress!) is extremely trim...weighs only 15 pounds. She's the cutest thing I ever saw. (Beagles are the cutest dogs on the planet, so I'm quite sure your little pocket beagle is just as adorable as my Ginger dog.)

I got into classic movies when I was about 43, so, like you, I am somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to the classics.

Thanks for sharing. Oh, and the smoothie sounds interesting..definitely worth a try.

    Have a great day!!!

  11. Dawn and Patti - you are both crazy. Wonderful people, but certifiable. Now pineapple and APPLE, I could take -- broccoli on the side so I can sneak it into the wastebasket more easily.

I am a cool weather girl. I don't like blazing hot sun and humidity that we get here in Indiana. I absolutely salivate for fall, jacket weather, crisp air -- this year especially after hell summer, I can't wait!

  12. Dawn, thank you for including my blog as one of your choices, you are incredibly sweet to think of me. I have been spending less time on my blog than in the past, and it was an unexpected and lovely surprise to see your comment. You have made some fun changes to your blog since my last visit; Betty Boop always makes me smile. I lived briefly in Arizona and remember the fun of visiting the Grand Canyon, Montezuma’s Castle, Tuzigoot and other fascinating spots around the state. I’m not a fan of okra, fried or otherwise, but your gardening skills are impressive; I dream of one day exchanging the view from my kitchen window for a flower and vegetable garden. May I make one observation regarding the links to blogspots: I don’t know why this should be the case, but the links to both Fedoras and High Heels and my blog lead to a dead end; the message states that neither blog exists. Thanks again for thinking of me, and for the reminder that Conrad Veidt is TCM’s star of the day on Tuesday.

  13. Dawn, I have done the same thing: made a smoothie with broccoli. I added carrots, too. It does come out rather greenish but it's good because I add apple juice, strawberries, and pears. Never tried pineapple, though. Will have to try that.

  14. Dawn, NOW I know what's going on! I'm in the midst of a group of HEALTHY people! LOL! OK, you've convinced me. I'm going to the store tomorrow, and I will pick up the fruit and some carrots. I'm sorry, but I don't think I could take the broccoli. Carrots are weird enough to go with fruit. Wish me luck that I get it right. I hope it's irresistibly sweet!

  16. Patti, I also.. enjoyed learning more about you. I have been to Florida, many times. I loved it there. Although, the heat is starting to bother me as I get older.

Ginger, and your other beagle sound like adorable little friends. Winslow, is my first beagle. So, it is quite a change for me.. All my other dogs have been spaniels.

Becky, It has really been hot and humid here in AZ. We have had a lot of rain this summer. I do not expect cooler weather until Nov.

whistlingypsy, you are a very talented writer, and I always enjoy reading your posts. Maybe, you will have more time in the near future to write more articles on your wonderful blog.

Thank you for letting me know about the links not working. I will see if I can fix the problem.

Good luck on your new garden.

Tom, I'm thinking about adding a smoothie recipie once a week, to the bottom of, "This week on N and CF" post and name it after a classic movie star (to keep it on topic). Do you think that would be fun idea?

Becky, Carrots are awesome in a smoothie. Please let me know how your smoothie recipie, turns out.

Craig Wingard, Thank you very much. I'm very honored. Your blog is a "new to me blog". I 'm looking forward to reading your future posts.
