This Week on N and CF.


This weeks (Updated Dec. 10, 2010). Chick Flicks at the Movies. My Man Godfrey (1936). Screwball comedy directed by Gregory LaCava. It was adapted from the novel 1101 Park Avenue by Eric Hatch and Morrie Ryskind, with uncredited contributions by Gregory La Cava. The story concerns a socialite who hires a derelict to be her family's butler, only to fall in love with him, much to his dismay. The film stars William Powell and Carole Lombard, supported by Alice Brady, Gail Patrick, Eugene Pallette, Mischa Auer and Alan Mowbray.Click picture located on the side bar to view movie.


ON TCM: Dec.12, 2010. Cinderella Jones(1946). A woman can claim inheritance only if she marries a genius. I have never heard of this movie. But, it caught my interest.




ON TCM: Dec.14,2010. To celebrate Lee Ann Remick's Birthday, TCM is featuring the movies listed below:

Running Man, The (1963). A man fakes his death to get back at the insurance company that denied an earlier claim. Cast: Laurence Harvey, Lee Remick, Alan Bates. Dir: Carol Reed.

Experiment in Terror (1962). A master criminal tries to force a bank teller to help him pull off a big heist. Cast: Glenn Ford, Lee Remick, Ross Martin. Dir: Blake Edwards.

Days of Wine and Roses (1962). A husband and wife fight to conquer alcoholism. Cast: Jack Lemmon, Lee Remick, Jack Klugman. Dir: Blake Edwards.

Baby, the Rain Must Fall (1965). A parolee tries to launch a musical career and keep out of trouble. Cast: Steve McQueen, Lee Remick, Don Murray. Dir: Robert Mulligan.

Sweet Bird Of Youth (1962).A young gigolo returns to his southern hometown in search of the lost love of his youth. Cast: Paul Newman, Geraldine Page, Shirley Knight. Dir: Richard Brooks.

ON TCM: Dec.15,2010. The Locked Door is a 1929 American drama film featuring Barbara Stanwyck in her second film appearance, first starring role, and first talking picture. It was based on the play The Sign on the Door by Channing Pollock.

ON TCM: Dec.15, 2010. The Bad and the Beautiful(1952).A melodramatic film that tells the story of a film producer who alienates all around him. It was directed by Vincente Minelli. Cast: Lana Turner, Kirk Douglas, Walter Pidgeon, Dick Powell, Barry Sullivan and Gloria Grahame.
