TCM: Star of the Month of May: Donna Reed.

Donna Reed, received the 1953 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Lorene, a prostitute, in From Here to Eternity.

Donna Reed, also received the 1963 Golden Globe Award for Best TV Star, for her performance as Donna Stone, a middle class wife and mother, in The Donna Reed Show.

In 1984, she replaced Barbara Bel Geddes as Miss Ellie in Dallas.

  1. Dawn, when Nick at Night(Long before TV Land) got the rights to The Donna Reed Show, they had a "fake advice" segment called "What would Donna Do? It was a trip. I wish they would start running it again.

  3. I grew up watching her be the perfect mom on TV. My whole family enjoyed the reruns on Nick at Nite. Thanks for sharing Dawn. And I think Donna will now be my classic movie goddess for June.
